GLPal Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GLPal collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the GLPal mobile application. GLPal is owned and operated by Wenge Zhang.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address
• Display name
• Authentication provider, such as email, Apple, or Google
• User account ID

Health and Wellness Information

• Height
• Current weight, starting weight, goal weight, and weight logs
• Weight unit preference
• GLP-1 medication name and dose
• Injection schedule, shot day, last shot date, and injection history
• Injection site information
• Meal and nutrition logs, including calories and macronutrients
• Water tracking data stored locally on your device
• Mood and side effect tracking data
• Optional notes you choose to enter
• Optional Apple Health data, if you choose to connect Apple Health

Technical and Device Information

• App session information needed to keep you signed in
• Reminder and notification preferences
• Crash and error data
• Limited analytics about app usage and feature interactions
• Push notification token, if used for notifications

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide weight, medication, meal, hydration, and symptom tracking features
• Show your progress, trends, and personalized insights inside the app
• Support reminders and notifications you choose to enable
• Maintain app security, fix bugs, and improve app performance
• Understand general product usage and improve the user experience
• Support optional integrations you choose to connect, such as Apple Health

4. Apple Health

If you choose to connect Apple Health, GLPal may read data from Apple Health and may write data back to Apple Health, depending on the permissions you grant. Apple Health access is optional. You can choose not to connect Apple Health, and core app features will still work.

Health data accessed through Apple Health is used only to provide and improve features within GLPal. We do not use Apple Health data for advertising.

5. How Information Is Shared

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate the app, such as:

• Supabase, for authentication, database hosting, and account data storage
• Sentry, for crash reporting and error monitoring
• PostHog, for product analytics
• Apple or Google, if you choose those sign-in methods
• Expo or other notification infrastructure providers, if notifications are enabled

These providers process information on our behalf to support the app’s functionality, security, analytics, and notifications.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

GLPal uses analytics and diagnostics tools to understand app usage, improve features, and detect crashes or errors. These tools may collect information such as app events, device and app version information, and crash details.

We aim to limit analytics data to what is reasonably necessary to operate and improve GLPal.

7. Notifications

If you enable reminders or notifications, GLPal may use notification settings and related technical information to deliver them. You can turn notifications off in the app or in your device settings at any time.

8. Data Storage and Retention

Your account data and synced app data are stored using our service providers. Some information, such as certain preferences or locally tracked items, may be stored only on your device.

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements, unless a longer or shorter retention period is required by law.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Update certain profile and health information in the app
• Disconnect optional integrations such as Apple Health through your device settings
• Disable notifications in the app or device settings
• Request deletion of your account and associated data using the in-app deletion feature

11. Children’s Privacy

GLPal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12. International Users

If you use GLPal from outside the United States, your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and may provide additional notice within the app if appropriate.
